Beaverton Municipal Court is hiring five temporary, part-time Court Support Specialists to provide customer service to court visitors and perform a variety of administrative support activities to keep court operations and processes running smoothly. The assignment is funded through June 30 2026, with the possibility of extension through March 2027.

Responsibilities- Receive, process, and respond to incoming correspondence.
- Receive and process payments.
- Pick up and drop off mail and other materials from other city facilities.
- Operate courtroom recording equipment and notate proceedings.
- Process documents according to established policies and procedures. Review records and documents for errors.
- Assist defendants in resolving cases by qualifying them for fine reductions and diversion and safety programs.
- Administratively dismiss violation cases that meet the requirements of a certificate of innocence or certificate of non-liability.
- Process cases for failure to appear, pay, or comply. Generate and mail documents.
- Check defendants into court prior to court appearances.
- Process cases within a work queue.
- Create a workplace that promotes the organizational values of inclusion, respect, and belonging.

- High school diploma or GED, and
- Two years of experience providing in-person customer service in a high-volume environment, including
- One year of experience in a criminal justice environment; and
- Cash handling experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience enabling the incumbent to perform the essential functions of the position.
Special Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the city’s driving standards.
- Ability to pass reference checks and education verification, and satisfy the requirements of a background check, including Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) fingerprints.
- Selected candidates must acquire CJIS and Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) certification within 30 days of beginning employment.
- Ability to satisfy the requirements of a pre-employment drug screen.
Wage: $25.97 hourly
