Engineering Technician

This role involves OEM service repair of customer‑owned test and measurement instruments, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and analyzers. The instruments are often 15‑20 years old and require diagnostic and decision‑based work rather than production or assembly‑line tasks.

• Repair customer‑owned test and measurement instruments.
• Conduct diagnostic tests using automated test stations.
• Review and analyze test data outputs to identify failures in components such as the front‑end board, acquisition board, or motherboard.
• Make technical decisions on whether to repair or swap boards, coordinating with assemblers and calibration operators as needed.
• Ensure instruments pass all tests before they are shipped back and billed to the customer.

• Formal electronics foundation through an Associate’s degree in Electronics or Engineering Technology, technical trade school, or military technical background.
• Strong understanding of general electronics fundamentals.
• Ability to perform logical and algorithmic troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and test data.
• Experience with automated testing procedures and tools.

• Understanding of analog and digital electronics.
• Knowledge of how circuit boards and systems interact.
• Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting using data to identify root causes.
• Familiarity with reading block diagrams and system‑level testing.
• Experience in a service environment and customer‑facing communication skills.
• Familiarity with Tektronix, Keysight, or Anritsu instruments is beneficial but not required.

The position is set in a manufacturing environment with a focus on testing and repair. You will have your own workspace to conduct repairs and diagnostics. The role offers benefits such as 2 weeks of PTO and holidays. The work involves supporting legacy equipment, which requires careful attention to detail and precision.

Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $35.00/hr.
