Special Education Teacher – Beaverton, OR

Contract Length:
Through June 10, 2026 (remainder of the 2025–2026 school year)

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 7:55 AM – 3:55 PM (plus prep time)

Hours:

~37.5 paid hours/week (30‑min unpaid lunch)

Grade Level: Upper Elementary (4th–5th grade)

Caseload:
Estimated 30–40 students (to confirm during interview)

• Provide individualized instruction and behavioral support for students with special needs in an Emotional Growth Center behavioral classroom.
• Collaborate with general education staff and implement IEPs per Oregon SPED regulations.
• Manage challenging behaviors (hitting, kicking, biting, elopement, task refusal) using approved de‑escalation strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to professional standards.

• Required:
  
  Active Oregon Special Education Teaching License.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree
• Preferred: 1+ year teaching experience
• Preferred:
  Familiarity with Oregon SPED laws and IEP requirements
• Preferred: CPR certification and compliance with health regulations

• Behavioral classroom experience.
• Endorsement as Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) or similar.
• Ability to share successful behavioral intervention strategies during interview.
