Production Designer

Contract through May, potential to extend.
4 days onsite, 1 remote.

Position Summary

As a Production Designer for our client's Global Packaging Design team, you are responsible for delivering consumer-correct, visual storytelling for packaging materials tributing interactive print production and artwork layout expertise to our client's Global Packaging Design team. You understand the print medium - print techniques and processes, material and structure - and are skilled in generating production-ready technical design assets. You are able to dissect direction and quickly execute within the constraints of existing identity systems.

Responsibilities:

• Listen and respond to a brief, ask questions, lead ideate and collaborate with a cross-functional creative team and develop and frame concepts in line with briefs

• Anticipate potential gaps in briefs and work to solution

• Take design concepts from idea to consumer and have passion to take your idea through production and execution

• Using existing assets, layout to new constraints and sizes within the identity system

• Learn new skills and stay abreast of technical and print design developments and successfully apply these to work practices

• Work within a fast-paced at-scale design environment, tracking multiple needs, timelines, and clients

• Collaborate with internal and external production and design partners to ensure consistency

• Be able to field questions and deliver solutions with production/print partners

• Consistently deliver high-quality work on time and with attention to detail

• Maintain project workflow updates across tools

Experience &

Education:

• 3+ years' experience in print production, technical packaging design, and structural concepts

• Experience with design systems and branding identity

• Excellent typography and layout ability

• Excellent communication skills and ability to speak to your work to all levels of an organization

• Strong passion to elevate design holistically

• Proficiency in Mac OSX, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Keynote, Slack, Airtable, and Acrobat (Figma and Miro are a plus)

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in design; communication design, advertising design or print production
