Apparel Design Lead
Our client is seeking an experienced Apparel Design Lead with a strong foundation in designing apparel styles and translating creative concepts into fully realized garments. This role is ideal for a designer who is deeply involved in silhouette creation, garment detailing, and fit, and who partners closely with development to bring apparel designs to life. The right candidate brings a balance of creative vision and technical expertise, with a clear focus on apparel design execution rather than color, materials, or mood‑board‑driven work.
Hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon
Responsibilities- Lead the design of technical and performance apparel styles from initial concept through prototype and seasonal delivery.
- Create original garment silhouettes, style lines, and design details that define the look, function, and intent of the product.
- Translate design concepts into buildable apparel solutions, partnering closely with development to resolve construction, fit, and execution challenges.
- Develop clear design packages and visual presentations that communicate style intent, construction direction, and product vision.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with development, engineering, and related partners while maintaining confidentiality on unreleased products.
- 5+ years of professional experience designing apparel styles, with a strong preference for brand‑side or in‑house apparel design experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in apparel style design, garment construction, and fit, beyond color, materials, or graphic‑focused work.
- Strong understanding of how apparel is engineered, patterned, and assembled, with the ability to design within real‑world production constraints.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and experience working with CLO 3D or similar digital apparel design tools.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and product intent.
Up to $50/hr (DOE)
