Senior Merchandise Planner Our client is seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Senior Merchandise Planner to join their digital merchandising team supporting a key segment of the men’s footwear business. The ideal candidate will combine strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of retail planning to drive pre-season strategy, in-season management, and monthly forecasting that optimizes inventory and sales performance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and enjoys influencing cross-functional teams to achieve shared business goals.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
- Lead pre-season planning, in-season management, and monthly reforecasting for the men’s footwear business, ensuring sales and inventory goals align with overall brand strategies.
- Analyze large, complex data sets to uncover insights and develop actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
- Present performance recaps and forecasts to high-level stakeholders, effectively translating data into clear, compelling business narratives.
- Partner cross-functionally with buying, finance, consumer, and planning teams to align assortment, inventory, and promotional strategies.
- Utilize advanced Excel and web-based planning tools (experience with O9 or similar systems preferred) to create detailed plans and performance models.
- Monitor key business metrics and identify opportunities to improve sell-through, margin, and inventory health.
- Support ongoing business initiatives by leading or contributing to high-visibility projects within the digital planning organization.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, finance, merchandising, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandise planning, financial planning, or retail business analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and demonstrated experience managing and interpreting large data sets.
- Expertise in retail or merchandise planning, with the ability to connect data to strategic business decisions.
- Skilled communicator, comfortable presenting to executive-level audiences and influencing outcomes through data storytelling.
- Highly organized with exceptional time management and attention to detail.
- Proven success working in dynamic, cross-functional environments with competing priorities.
- Experience with in large consumer product, apparel, or footwear companies is strongly preferred.
- Curiosity, initiative, and the ability to navigate ambiguity to deliver results in fast-paced settings.
- Familiarity with sneaker or streetwear culture is a plus.
Compensation:
Up to $42/hr. (DOE)
