SVG Motors is one of Ohio's fastest-growing dealership groups with seven locations and an aggressive inventory acquisition strategy. We're launching a dedicated Vehicle Acquisition Center and need a sharp, reliable CDL driver who can do more than just haul — someone who can show up to a pickup, look a vehicle over with a trained eye, and make sure we're getting what we’re paying for.

This is a road-based position with real responsibility. Our acquisition team sources vehicles and schedules every appointment — you're not prospecting or selling. What you are doing is representing SVG in the field every single day. You’ll run daily routes across Ohio and into neighboring states, picking up vehicles from dealers, private sellers, and auction partners at pre-set appointments. At every stop, you’ll conduct a hands‑on vehicle inspection, document the condition thoroughly, flag anything that doesn't match what we were told, and transport the vehicle back to our reconditioning facility on a company flatbed.

Your inspections directly protect the company from bad buys. Your efficiency on the road directly drives our inventory flow. This role has real impact, and the compensation reflects that.

You’ll start the morning with a route and a list of confirmed pickups. Some days that’s three stops in the Dayton‑Columbus corridor. Other days you might run down to Cincinnati or out to Indianapolis. At each stop, you’ll walk the vehicle, run through our standardized inspection checklist, photograph everything per our documentation standards, and communicate findings back to the acquisition team in real time.

If something’s off — undisclosed damage, mechanical issues, condition that doesn't match the description — you flag it before we commit. Then you load up and move to the next stop. At the end of the day, vehicles come back to our recon center ready to enter the pipeline.

• Valid CDL (Class A or
  
  B) with a clean driving record
• Flatbed hauling experience preferred, but we’ll train the right candidate
• Enough mechanical awareness and vehicle knowledge to catch what matters — frame issues, flood indicators, major paint or body work, obvious mechanical problems
• Professional demeanor — every pickup is a face‑to‑face interaction representing SVG
• Punctuality and reliability — appointments are scheduled, and people are expecting you
• Ability to work independently, manage a route, and communicate clearly with the team from the road
• Comfortable using a smartphone for photos, notes, and real‑time updates

• Full training on our inspection and condition grading process
• Photo and documentation standards so you know exactly what to capture
• Clear escalation procedures for when a vehicle doesn't match expectations
• Flatbed operation and securement training if needed
• Company flatbed, fuel card, and all travel expenses covered

• $25/hr base rate

This is a position where your income is directly tied to your work ethic and attention to detail. The base is your floor, not your ceiling. Drivers who run efficient routes and deliver consistent, reliable inspections will earn well above base pay every month.
