Data Warehouse Developer I – Wright‑Patt Credit Union
Location:
3560 Pentagon Blvd, Beavercreek, Ohio (Additional: Cincinnati, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio)
Job Type: Full‑Time, Variable Work Type, Exempt (Salary), Full‑Time/Regular
Responsibilities- Development (50%) – Design and create appropriate database objects (tables, indexes, etc.).
- Develop T‑SQL scripts, stored procedures, SSIS packages, SQL Server Agent jobs, and other tools to support ETL functions. Incorporate data from multiple sources to provide a “single source of truth” for the Credit Union’s data needs.
- Develop SSRS and/or Power BI reports on an ongoing or ad hoc basis. Work with business units and IT to understand requirements and develop reports to meet those needs.
- Production Support (20%) – Provide 24x7x365 support when required (including after‑hours/weekends). Troubleshoot database‑related defects/issues and provide consultation to IT teams.
- Assist developers and DBAs with database‑related activities (e.g., setup/install of DBs). Aid in the monitoring and performance tuning of databases, queries, and ETL extracts.
- Interface with third‑party vendors for technical support (as needed). Inform Daily IT Status calls of any processing issues.
- Project Engagement (20%) – Actively work with the Project Management Office to meet data needs inherent in project delivery. Respond quickly and accurately to project‑related requests for information from Project Managers and Business Analysts. Escalate issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Documentation (10%) – Document system design, processes, and procedures as appropriate. Maintain source code in the WPCU provided repository. Ensure proper policies, procedures, risk‑mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Report gaps to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; an Associate’s Degree in a computer‑related field and 7 years of IT experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience using MS SQL Server databases in a Developer or DBA role in a medium‑to‑large organization.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience using the Business Intelligence Developer Studio, including Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Experience in the entire Database Lifecycle Management (DLM) including SQL source code control, schema compares, data compares, and SQL testing.
- Hands‑on experience writing transaction SQL scripts and stored procedures for ETL needs.
- Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.
