POSITION PURPOSE

As a Loan Advisor at U1, you will play a crucial role in helping our members achieve their financial goals by providing expert guidance on loan products and services. You will work directly with members to understand their needs, assess their financial situations, and recommend appropriate loan solutions. Your goal is to ensure a positive member experience and to support the credit union's growth and success.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be a substitute for formal education.
NMLS Certification
  • Current or must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Additional licenses may be required.
Experience Required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial services or loan advisory role, preferably within a credit union or financial institution.
  • Prior sales experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Must be willing to work evenings and/or weekends.
  • Understanding of the Credit Union's field of membership.
  • Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services and products.
  • An understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with members.
  • Proficiency in credit analysis.
  • Ability to analyze financial documents and assess loan risk.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong financial math skills
  • Knowledge of lending related requirements, procedures, document preparation, and underwriting criteria.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
