Overview
MTSI is seeking a Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support development and integration of highly technical platform systems and subsystems. The individual will decompose user capability requirements into system and subsystem specifications, evaluate technical maturation and risk reduction processes and results, provide design reviews, plan, execute and evaluate development, integration, and test results, provide specification verification and system validation assessments, identify deficiency root cause and evaluate corrective actions, evaluate and support manufacturing capability development, fielding, sustainment and modernization planning and engineering support.
The individual will work with the SPO Chief Engineer, program managers, vendors, platform users, cybersecurity experts, logisticians, testers, and other system and subsystem engineers to execute a fast past acquisition program of critical national defense capabilities. The role requires significant experience with the USAF systems engineering process and effective communication to enable successful execution of the SPO s mission. The individual will work within highly classified work spaces (TS SAP and SCI environments) and must have experience working in these secure environments to accomplish these responsibilities.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) level systems engineering support across all phases of the program lifecycle, from concept development and requirements definition through design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on systems engineering best practices, methodologies, and tools.
- Conduct independent technical reviews and assessments of system designs, architectures, and implementations to identify potential risks, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement.
- Provide technical expertise to support the development and maintenance of systems engineering documentation, including requirements specifications, design documents, interface control documents, test plans, and configuration management plans.
- Participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and other program events to provide systems engineering expertise and guidance.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and advancements in systems engineering.
- Develop and deliver training on systems engineering topics to program personnel.
- Support the development and execution of systems engineering management plans.
- Mentor junior systems engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Contribute to the development of systems engineering processes and procedures.
- Master's degree and 19+ years' experience in business, operations, planning, science, engineering, or mathematics, OR bachelor's degree and 21+ years' experience in these fields
- Work experience in a TS/SCI/SAP environment
Must possess an active DoD Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility).
