The Student Affairs Intern will support the management and maintenance of student and institutional records with a strong emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality. You will collaborate with the Student Records and Student Services teams to gain hands-on experience in student support services and administration, covering the entire enrollment process-from registration to transcript fulfillment. This intern position reports to the Director of Student Services, who may assign additional project-based work aligned with your learning goals and with departmental priorities.

• Assist with maintaining accurate and confidential records, processing registrations, withdrawals, transcript requests, and student information updates in compliance with policies.
• Serve as a point of contact for student inquiries, provide information about policies and procedures, and support students, parents, and staff with a variety of questions and issues.
• Establish internship goals, meet weekly with a supervisor to track progress, and gain practical experience aligned with learning objectives.
• Engage in weekly professional development sessions as part of the summer internship cohort, cultivating collaboration, strengthening skills, and encouraging continuous learning.
• Contribute to special projects with a service-oriented mindset.

Qualifications (Education Requirements/Experience):

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with a Junior or Senior status preferred.
• Successful completion of a background check and current and/or ability to obtain the following clearances:
  Child Abuse, State Police, FBI Fingerprinting and Mandated Reporter for Child Abuse.
• Demonstrated agreement with the vision for the stated mission, philosophy, values, and goals of Portage Learning.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, projectors, filing cabinets and fax machines.
