Description:
The unit is a Long-Term Care setting.
The facility accommodates 70 beds, with the majority being private rooms.
The electronic medical record system used is ECS.
The nurse-patient ratio is 1:20 for RNs and LPNs, with a ratio of 1:8 for CNAs.
Common diagnoses include dementia, frailty, and rehabilitation needs.
Job duties include charting, assessments, medication administration, and charge duties.
Clinical skills required include IV management, catheterization, and knowledge of ostomy care.
The unit requires experience with elderly patients.
IVs and titratable drips are present.
There are no tele monitors on this unit.
RNs are not required to read cardiac strips.
Attendance at team conferences for acute inpatient rehab is not required.
There is a designated Charge Nurse and House Supervisor available.
Physician availability after hours is provided.
An interdisciplinary team approach includes therapy, administration, social workers, activities, dietary, and housekeeping.
Respiratory therapy is on-site 24/7.
A pharmacy with a medication dispensing system is available on-site.
The shift scheduling is arranged in blocks, with varying nurse and aide coverage during different times of the day.
Weekend requirements consist of every other weekend, unless specified otherwise.
Holiday availability requires attending at least half of the holidays during the assignment.
There is no on-call requirement for this role.
Floating to other units may be required.
Dress code is any solid color that is clean and professional.
