Job Description
American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Long Term Care position in a nursing home setting, requiring a WI or compact license and elderly care experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a 70-bed post-acute skilled nursing facility attached to a hospital
- Patient population includes dementia, frail, elderly, and rehabilitation cases
- RN to patient ratio is 1:20, LPN to patient ratio is 1:20, and CNA to patient ratio is 1:8
- Uses ECS electronic medical record system
- 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Floating to other units may be required
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling with team support including nurses and aides
- Responsibilities include comprehensive nursing care, clinical assessments, and managing medications and IVs
- Interdisciplinary team includes therapy, administration, social workers, activities, dietary, and housekeeping staff
- Must wear any solid-colored, clean, and professional scrubs
- Must be available for at least half of the holidays during the assignment
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates living within 80 miles are subject to a lower local rate
- Active WI or compact state RN license required by start date
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in elderly or long-term care settings
- Experience with charting, assessments, charge duties, IVs, catheters, ostomy care, and medication administration
- Elderly care experience is required
- Two professional references required, including one from a supervisor
- Previous permanent staff must have a 6-month gap before consideration for this role
