Job OverviewThe Housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas. This includes cleaning, laundry, and maintenance tasks to ensure the environment is well-maintained, safe, and pleasant for all residents and family members.
Responsibilities- Cleaning Tasks
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all areas of the facility.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, and bedrooms.
- Change bed linens and make beds.
- Wash windows and mirrors as required.
- Clean floors, carpets, rugs, and furniture.
- Laundry and Linen Management
- Wash, dry, fold, and iron laundry as needed.
- Ensure that all linens (sheets, towels, etc.) are cleaned and replaced.
- Sort and organize laundry and linens for efficient storage.
- Organization
- Ensure rooms, hallways, and common areas are organized and well-presented.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and cleaning materials as needed.
- Waste Management
- Empty trash cans and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Recycle items as necessary.
- Safety and Maintenance
- Ensure all cleaning products and tools are used safely and in accordance with guidelines.
- Report any maintenance issues (broken equipment, plumbing issues, etc.) to the appropriate personnel.
- Guest/Resident Interaction (if applicable)
- Greet guests and residents, ensuring their comfort and needs are met.
- Respond to any special requests regarding cleaning or services.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with others.
- Experience:
Previous housekeeping experience preferred, but not required. - Skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Familiarity with cleaning tools, equipment, and products.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Long term care facility
- May require standing, bending, lifting, and carrying cleaning equipment.
- Must be comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
