Position Summary

Responsibilities
  • Drive sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, in‑stock levels, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, and assessment of economic trends and community needs.
  • Model, enforce, and provide direction and guidance to Associates on proper Customer/Member service approaches and techniques to resolve Customer/Member needs, complaints, and issues within company guidelines and standards.
  • Oversee the implementation of community outreach programs and encourage Associates to serve as good community members.
  • Ensure compliance with company and legal policies, procedures, and regulations for the Vision Center by analyzing and interpreting reports, implementing and monitoring asset protection and safety controls, overseeing safety and quality assurance reviews, developing and implementing action plans, and directing Vision Center Associates to maintain confidentiality and proper documentation.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for Associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, recognition, and fostering a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Ensure the provision of quality eyewear by consulting with and educating Members/Customers, selecting products based on their needs, obtaining measurements, verifying prescriptions, maintaining confidential information, performing minor frame repairs, and maintaining optical equipment.
  • Uphold the Company’s Open Door Policy by meeting with Associates, listening to concerns, researching issues, reviewing company policies, suggesting resolutions, coordinating job‑related activities, maintaining relationships with stakeholders, supporting initiatives, setting goals, measuring progress, identifying improvement opportunities, and promoting continuous learning.

Compensation and Hours

Hourly wage range: $22.50 – $32.50 per hour. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of 2 or more years of college OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience OR 2 years of general work experience including 1 year of optical experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and/or rules.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervising Associates experience.
