We are seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our community committed to delivering outstanding care to our residents. As an LVN, you will contribute to the implementation of unit goals, nursing service and facility objectives by coordinating resident care management, directing staff, and providing direct nursing care to residents.
What you'll do- Ensure that the individual health care plan is followed; administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians.
- Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures and requirements, as well as federal and state laws and agency regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct meaningful rounds of residents using health care plans; accompany physicians on rounds and accurately and timely record visits on charts.
- Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections; perform in-house testing procedures; take and record vital signs.
- Assist in maintaining current health care plans according to a rotation schedule and document acute episodes or significant changes in resident status.
- Supervise aides in the performance of their duties by monitoring their work; assign aides to residents, specifying break times and special duties.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Texas nursing licensure. Training/certification required by Buckner and the State of Texas. Previous long-term care experience preferred.
- Minimum one year related experience.
- Proficient ability to speak, read and write English.
- Ability to meet business needs with work schedules, assignments and units as requested by the facility.
- Physical ability to move objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or 20 pounds continuously.
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods; capability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, stand and walk for most of the shift (about 75%).
- Adhere to the Licensed Vocational Nurse practice standards as established by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
