US Oncology Network is looking for a Scheduler to join our team at Texas Oncology in Beaumont, Texas. This full‑time position will support our Beaumont clinic. What Does the Scheduler Do?Under minimal supervision, the Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patient appointments and tests efficiently and timely, answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate personnel, serving as liaison between patients and medical staff, possibly handling outside scheduling and/or surgical scheduling responsibilities, and if designated as lead, responsible for orientation, training, and assignment of work to lower‑level employees. The Scheduler supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, code of ethics, and business standards.
Responsibilities- Answer calls from the call center and transfer to clinic immediately.
- Call patients back to schedule appointments accurately and timely, adding to the call board.
- Schedule returning patients in accordance with physician orders and office guidelines.
- Cancel or reschedule appointments based on physician orders and schedule changes; notify clinic personnel.
- Attach insurance authorization and referrals to patient appointments.
- Schedule patients for financial counseling as needed.
- Demonstrate understanding of patient confidentiality policies.
- Follow policies and procedures to contribute to front‑office efficiency.
- Cover for other front‑office functions as requested.
- Schedule hospital follow‑up appointments.
- Schedule follow‑up appointments, office procedures, and treatments; understand basic medical terminology for tests and procedures.
Level I (Entry‑Level):
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Zero to three years of experience in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (plus).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Level II (Additional requirements):
- Minimum three years of office experience in a medical office setting.
Level Senior (Additional requirements):
- Minimum five years of office experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding required.

Sitting for long periods, stooping, bending, stretching for files; occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds; manual dexterity to operate keyboard, calculator, phone, copier; vision 20/20 correctable, normal hearing; ability to view and type on computer screens for prolonged periods.
Work EnvironmentOffice environment with patient and public contact; ability to work in a community oncology setting.
