Piping Engineer/Project Engineer

Our client is seeking mechanical engineering professionals for a fulltime permanent position as a Project Engineer who will implement capital investment projects.

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the achievement of the scope, budget, and performance defined in the technical studies for piping designs from the conceptual phases to the detail engineering phases.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Installation, cleaning, flushing and testing piping and related material. Planning the piping engineering work, supporting site installation and erection activities, following up on engineering and construction contractors.

The main responsibilities for the position are:

• Developing basic and detailed piping designs, including calculations, material specification, selection, drawings and material lists.
• Supporting site installation and erection activities.
• Actively participating in the engineering tasks.
• Planning and following up on the Piping Engineering activities.
• Preparing and following up on budget for Engineering projects.
• Taking part in the preparation and execution of the Engineering action plan.
• Contributing to the preparation of the Locations Investment Plan.
• Developing technical studies of feasibility for capital investment.
• Coordinating the projects implementation.
• Leading project implementation teams under own responsibility.
• Guaranteeing that the budget, schedule, quality, and scope goals are met.
• Guaranteeing that the investment is implemented according to the Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Guaranteeing the performance of the implemented investment.

For this position the following knowledge and skills are required:

BACKGROUND

EDUCATION:

• BS Mechanical Engineering

KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of the Utilities systems for industrial plants, including water supply & treatment, water cooling systems, combustion and other gases, compressed air, pressure vessels, between others.
• Experience in designing piping systems, specification, selection and design of piping material and related fittings and supporting the construction and installation process, in Industrial Plants.
• Knowledge of IT tools used in Engineering, as AutoCAD, Office, design Software
• Knowledge of the steel-making process is an asset.
• Solid knowledge of Project Management.
• Experience in contract management.
• Knowledge of IT tools used in Engineering.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in Engineering and Utilities projects.
