Job Summary
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Production Engineer to support operations at our water chemical treatment facility across two key areas:
Production and Logistics. This role requires a hands-on engineering professional who will optimize processes, ensure safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while managing both production operations and supply chain logistics.
Key Characteristics
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills - Conduct root cause analysis, investigate quality concerns and equipment non-conformances, perform supply chain optimization analysis, and continuously make decisions to improve process efficiencies. The engineer must systematically identify issues, analyze data (such as OEE metrics), and develop effective countermeasures.
- Excellent Communication and Training Abilities - Network with site, regional, and global functions; perform classroom instruction for operations teams; coordinate with vendors; and manage cross-functional relationships between production and logistics. Communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences and facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Strong Organizational and Project Management Skills - Balance responsibilities across two locations (Production and Logistics); manage over 36 bulk storage tanks; coordinate scheduling for materials/packaging/shipments; identify and execute CAPEX/OPEX projects; and maintain documentation. Prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and ensure compliance across operational areas.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations.
- Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) and Process Safety Management (PSM) opportunities
- Perform process engineering activities including heat/material transfer, mass balancing, and equipment performance assessments
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement countermeasures for operational issues
- Network with site, regional, and global functions to drive best practices
Production Focus Areas
- Manage bulk storage, production equipment, auxiliary systems, and utilities
- Track and analyze Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data to identify quality concerns, yield losses, and equipment non-conformances
- Monitor daily production and quality rates to ensure optimal performance
- Identify, scope, and execute CAPEX and OPEX improvement projects
- Provide training and classroom instruction to operations teams
- Support production scheduling and maintain critical documentation
Logistics Focus Areas
- Balance daily administrative duties (25-40% of time) with field support activities
- Coordinate raw material scheduling and ensure adequate storage space availability
- Manage packaging schedules and prepare required documentation
- Oversee shipment scheduling and documentation preparation
- Conduct vendor management and maintain chemical organization per segregation/lean standards
- Perform supply chain analysis for optimization opportunities
- Manage over 36 bulk storage tanks and develop equipment handling procedures
- Conduct inventory accuracy assessments and ensure risk management compliance
This dual-role position offers the opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of both production operations and logistics management while driving process improvements and maintaining high safety and quality standards in water chemical treatment operations.
