* Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Spanish language, Second Language Acquisition (SLA), teaching methodologies, pedagogy, and applied linguistics.
* Develop, revise, and deliver high-quality, research-informed curricula's aligned with program and departmental learning outcomes.
* Coordinate and provide leadership for lower-division Spanish language courses, ensuring consistency in instructional materials, assessments, and course delivery across sections.
* Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students, including students in the Master of Arts in Teaching Spanish (MATS) program.
* Support Spanish Teacher Certification initiatives and contribute to Applied Spanish for the Professions curriculum as needed.
* Incorporate effective instructional technologies, assessment practices, and student engagement strategies. Research:
* Maintain an active, coherent research agenda in Second Language Acquisition, Spanish pedagogy, applied linguistics, or closely related fields.
* Produce scholarly work through peer reviewed publications, presentations, and other academic outputs.
* Pursue opportunities for interdisciplinary research and collaboration across university programs and departments.
* Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with trends, research methodologies, and innovations in SLA/pedagogy.
* Seek external funding or participate in grant supported research initiatives when appropriate. Service:
* Contribute to departmental, college, and university service, including committee participation, governance roles, and program support.
* Assist with curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation-related activities.
* Participate in recruitment, student outreach, and activities supporting program growth such as study abroad initiatives or community engagement.
* Support coordination and development of the Spanish Studies program, including alignment with teacher certification standards and Applied Spanish for the Professions.
* Represent the department and university in professional organizations, conferences, and community partnerships Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

* Language Proficiency:
Native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English.
* Teaching
Experience:
Effective college/university-level teaching record in areas relevant to the position (e.g., Spanish language, second language acquisition, teaching methodologies/pedagogies, applied linguistics), informed by current research and trends in second language pedagogy.
* Research:
Coherent, active research agenda in Second Language Acquisition/Pedagogy (SLA), with evidence of scholarly potential/production.
* Program Contribution:
Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, contribute to curricular and program development, and provide leadership in lower-division language coordination.
* Collaboration & Service:
Demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and participation in departmental, college, and university service. Desired
