Position Summary

The Area Sales Director is responsible for leading and growing sales performance across a defined multi-location territory. This role provides strategic and hands‑on leadership to sales teams, drives revenue and margin growth, ensures consistent execution of sales initiatives, and strengthens customer relationships. The ideal candidate is a results‑driven leader with strong experience in B2B industrial sales, and people development.

Key Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Strategy
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with company goals and growth initiatives.
  • Drive organic growth, margin improvement, and new customer acquisition across assigned locations.
  • Establish sales targets, performance metrics, and accountability standards.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop outside sales representatives, and sales support teams.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain high-performing sales talent.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement training and development plans.
Customer & Market Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key and strategic customers.
  • Participate in high-level customer meetings, negotiations, and contract discussions.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
Operational & Financial Oversight
  • Partner with operations leadership to ensure consistent service delivery, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage regional sales budgets, pricing strategies, and profitability targets.
  • Review sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and KPI dashboards to drive performance.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with marketing, supply chain, safety, and finance teams to support regional initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies, sales processes, and CRM usage.
  • Support integration of acquisitions and implementation of new systems or programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of progressive B2B sales experience, including multi‑location or regional leadership.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue and margin growth and managing high‑performing sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of pricing, margin management, and contract negotiation.
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region.
