Essential Job Functions
Performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties: answers telephones, takes messages or routes calls to appropriate staff; receives and directs all visitors; interacts effectively and professionally with the public and other employees; operates various office machines including PC, and copy machines; assist with calendars, special events and patron registration.

This position requires 100% onsite work. Is exposed to extreme cold, heat, temperature swings, heights and noise; works indoors and outdoors in all types of weather; is exposed to fumes/odors, dust/mites and chemical hazards. Must be available to work 29 hours per week (7:30 am - 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday).
KnowledgeKnowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic; knowledge of multi-line phone system; knowledge of Word and Excel.
Skills / AbilitiesMust have good customer service skills; ability to perform routine arithmetic calculations; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions with minimal supervision; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and patrons; ability to work in a fast paced environment with frequent telephone and walk in visitor interruptions; ability to operate a PC; ability to maintain a multi-line phone system;
ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously; ability to be flexible involving job assignments, lunch and breaks. Ability to operate a PC, calculator, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Constantly hears and sees; frequently stands, walks, stoops, bends, climbs, twist body, kneels, squats, crouch, sits, cleans, files, writes by hand, carries, holds, drags, pushes, pulls and lifts objects weighing up to 25 - 50 lbs.
Education / ExperienceMust possess a high school diploma or high school equivalency. Minimum one year experience in a clerical role.
This position requires 100% onsite work. Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Texas state law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver's license. Other state valid. Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test.
