Project Accountant

The HT Group is seeking a detail-oriented and professional Project Accountant to join our client’s office in Beaumont. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience in construction or project-based accounting, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. This is a contract to hire opportunity with a starting pay rate of $20+, DOE.

• Process and manage client billing and invoicing
• Handle accounts payable, including vendor payments and reconciliations
• Track and manage project time and associated costs
• Perform cost accounting functions, including tracking project expenses, allocating costs, and analyzing budget-to-actual variances
• Oversee office vendor accounts and ensure timely payments
• Assist with drafting and reviewing contracts
• Manage office insurance policies and maintain compliance documentation
• Verify and track vendor insurance certificates to ensure compliance for project work
• Prepare and process project pay applications
• Maintain accurate financial records and support reporting needs

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• Previous accounting experience required (project-based or construction accounting preferred)
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, billing, and financial recordkeeping
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and follow-up skills
