Job Description Position Summary
The Staff CPA will prepare and review individual and business tax returns, review monthly financials prepared by bookkeeping staff, assist with reviews and compilations, and meet directly with new and existing clients. This position is fully in-office and requires regular client and team interaction.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review:
- Individual tax returns (Form 1040)
- Business tax returns (Forms 1120S, 1065, 1120)
- Multi-state returns as applicable
- Review monthly financial statements prepared by bookkeeping staff
- Assist with Reviews and Compilations (SSARS engagements)
- Meet with and communicate directly with clients
- Participate in new client onboarding and existing client meetings
- Identify tax planning opportunities
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws
- Support firm workflow and deadlines
- Assist in mentoring junior staff as needed
- Active CPA license (or CPA candidate close to completion)
- 3+ years of public accounting experience preferred
- Strong tax preparation experience (individual and business)
- Experience with financial statement reviews
- Familiarity with Quick Books (Online and Desktop) preferred
- Strong communication and client service skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
