Position OverviewThe Billing Director will oversee the day-to-day billing functions at ABT, ensuring accurate claims submission, timely follow-up, and compliance with payer requirements. This role supports revenue growth, manages the billing team, collaborates closely with internal departments, and helps maintain strong relationships with insurance payers and funding sources. The Billing Director will also support contracting, credentialing, and Autism Scholarship invoicing, and will assist in identifying opportunities for operational improvements.
This is a vital position for maintaining the efficiency, accuracy, and integrity of ABT’s financial and billing operations. This position will be In-Office Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.
- Oversee timely and accurate claims submission and payment posting
- Monitor reimbursement trends and resolve billing discrepancies
- Support payer contracting and provider credentialing
- Manage follow-up on outstanding claims and escalated issues
- Maintain accurate billing data and provide reporting to leadership
- Assist with Autism Scholarship invoicing and compliance
- Supervise and support billing staff, ensuring smooth workflow and performance
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare billing
- Prior team leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of insurance billing and reimbursement processes
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in ABA, mental health, or therapy-based billing
- Familiarity with Autism Scholarship programs
- Experience improving or automating billing processes
