Hardware Design Engineer

We’re seeking a Hardware Design Engineer who brings strong electrical design expertise and hands-on experience in E-Plan (highly preferred) or AutoCAD Electrical. This is an opportunity to play a key role in designing industrial control systems that directly impact performance, safety, and reliability.

You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, leadership, purchasing, customers, and vendors to bring complex systems to life — ensuring compliance with UL, NEC, and NFPA standards while delivering high-quality, on-time designs.

• Design and document electrical control systems and industrial control panels
• Develop detailed schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams
• Select and specify components to ensure optimal system performance
• Generate and manage bills of materials
• Ensure all documentation meets UL508A, NEC, and NFPA-79 compliance standards
• Maintain and improve CAD libraries and drafting standards
• Contribute to process improvements that enhance design efficiency

• 3–5 years of electrical design and CAD experience
• Strong working knowledge of industrial control systems and power distribution
• E-Plan experience highly preferred
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical (2014 or newer) required if no E-Plan
• Working knowledge of UL508A, NEC, and NFPA-79 standards
• Ability to generate drive control drawings from written or verbal descriptions
• Strong attention to detail and documentation quality
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet production schedules

• Experience transitioning or standardizing design platforms (E-Plan implementation experience is a plus)
• AutoCAD Electrical scripting/programming
• Source/Destination Codes and Smart Layout functions
• MS Access database experience
• Strong system layout and engineering document analysis
