Overview

Seeking an experienced professional candidate who would like to drive for a truck owner who is leased on to Tigerhawk Logistics in Baytown, Tx.

This is NOT a company driver position.

This will be an independent contractor position and the candidate will drive for the truck owner.

We have a strong fleet in place and all of our drivers are on the same level and all get the same amount of work.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service while operating a commercial motor vehicle. This role requires an individual who is self-motivated and capable of managing their own business operations while delivering high-quality service.

Requirements
  • Ability to Drive a MANUAL transmission
  • At least 2 years experience operating a commercial motor vehicle
  • TWIC card required
  • Ability to speak English
  • Class A CDL
  • No DWI within the last 5 years
  • No drivers on SAP program
  • No major accidents or incidents in the last 3 years
Operations
  • Duty hours are usually 6am to 6pm Monday thru Friday.
  • Off on the weekends and major holidays!!
  • Almost all work is local and regional one day runs so you are home at night!!!
  • Pay usually averages between $1,000 to $1,500 a week, with more possible.
  • Pay is almost ALWAYS based on the driver's willingness to come into work.
Duties
  • Operate and maintain a commercial full size tractor-trailer.
  • Ensure timely and safe transportation of goods to designated locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Ability to keep truck clean both inside and out.
  • Manage paperwork related to deliveries, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and other team members to coordinate schedules and resolve issues.
Skills
  • Proficiency in operating tractor trailers and intermodal chassis.
  • Experience operating inside the Ports is a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in the transportation industry.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
