LSI Staffing is seeking an experienced Safety Lead to work at our client’s pipe yard in Baytown, TX.
Pay Rate: ? $20–$24 per hour
, based on experience
- MUST be bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Previous safety experience in an industrial or pipe yard environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA standards
- Ability to enforce safety rules and correct unsafe behaviors
- Experience around forklifts, cranes, rigging, and pipe handling is a plus
Job Summary
:
The Safety Lead is responsible for promoting and enforcing all safety policies and procedures within the pipe yard. This role ensures a safe working environment by monitoring daily operations, identifying hazards, coaching employees on safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with company, client, OSHA, and site‑specific safety standards.
- Enforce all safety rules, policies, and site-specific procedures at the pipe yard
- Conduct daily safety walks, job hazard analyses (JHA), and site inspections
- Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and take immediate corrective action
- Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety orientations for new hires
- Previous experience in a pipe yard, industrial yard, or heavy equipment environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards
- Experience with forklifts, overhead cranes, rigging, or pipe handling a plus
- Ability to recognize hazards and enforce corrective actions confidently
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to walk the yard for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Ensure proper use of PPE at all times (hard hats, gloves, steel‑toe boots, etc.)
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; complete reports and follow up on corrective actions
- Monitor high-risk activities such as crane operations, forklifts, pipe handling, rigging, and loading/unloading
- Stop work when unsafe conditions exist and notify management immediately
- Assist with OSHA compliance, audits, and client safety requirements
- Maintain safety documentation, logs, and training records
- Act as a safety role model and point of contact for all employees on site
