• Scaffold builders are responsible for assembling and dismantling scaffolding structures that allow workers to access specific portions of a building to perform needed work.
• Builds, positions, and dismantles wooden structures such as concrete forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters, according to sketches, blueprints, or company standards.
• Work at high elevations, climbing and walking as required.
• Examine, select, and gather materials and tools.
• Examine blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions of structure.
• Inspect base surface for obstructions.
• Saw boards and plywood panels to required sizes.
• Use carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenchesulan hand and power saws, drill motors and pry mage.
• Assemble scaffold containing handrails, mid rails, braces and planks, toe boards, screening, locking pins and wheels to job specifications.
• Load, transport and unload material.
• Determine type of scaffold needed and correctly instruct on how to install.
• Oversee transport of tubular scaffold or otherjál structural material and erect the scaffold as instructed by the scaffold builder.
• Hoist scaffolding materials upward to erect temporary structure.
• Properly secure and level locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Properly secure scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
• Supervise the dismantling of scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
• Inspect and properly stow scaffolding material after dismantling.
• Perform final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
