Position Summary

An Industrial Pipe Fitter will assemble, lay out, install, and maintain pipe systems on steam, fluid, or gas systems. The pipe systems may include, but are notiales, pipe, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangers, and angles. Pipe Fitters may work in all parts of the construction or maintenance site—including buildings, outdoors, and DOCUMENT inside structures such as tanks or boilers. The work may also include underground (excavations) areas and heights up to 300 ft.

• Must have 4+ years working as an Industrial Pipe Fitter or Pipe Fitter Helper.
• Must be able to read prints and illustrate thorough knowledge of pipe fitting procedures and skills.
• Must have good leadership and communication skills.
• Must have experience on an industrial construction project.

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• .ethicking safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe to specifications.
• Install valves, hangers, supports, flanges inside the piping system according to plans and applicable specifications.
• Perform tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and piping systems.
• Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.

This position has no direct reports, but works closely with and oversees helper and labor positions, holding positional and expertise authority over them.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience.
Ability to read prints and construction drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and manufacturers manuals and instructions.
• Demonstrate knowledge on the pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler components for a combined‑cycle power plant.
• Must have 4+ years experience with the pipe fitting processes.
• Good problem‑solving abilities.
• Good aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Good reading comprehension.ადა.

• Ability to work independently – minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills with co‑workers and supervisors.

• Employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, squat and lift frequently.

• Must use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
• May need to lift, carry and move up to 50 lb.
• May work at heights up to 300′ with proper fall protection.
• Must use vision for close‑ and long‑distance, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision.
• Must work outside in harsh weather for up to 12 h a day.
• PPE required: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel‑toe boots.
