We are looking for a skilled Crane Operator to join our team. As a leader in the heavy lift industry, Sterling Crane offers a culture of empowerment, learning opportunities, and a commitment to making a positive impact.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Efficiently and safely operate a variety of specialized machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, ensuring the correct selection and set-up of crane, lift or hoist.
  • Inspect and assess ground conditions as well as any possible overhead obstructions.
  • Maintain equipment through daily inspections, routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintain logs and records of operational activities.
  • Maintain visual and radio communications with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, responding to questions and instructions clearly and quickly.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers, and mobile cranes.
  • Current TWIC card.
  • Successfully pass post‑offer drug and physical screens and meet company background requirements.
  • Dependable, reliable, and flexible to work overtime when necessary.
  • Maintain a current NCCCO Crane Operators License for qualified equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials, or instructions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team‑work ability.
Physical Requirements
  • Strong depth perception and quick reaction time.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 65 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs regularly.
  • Visual capabilities to follow hand signals, maintain logs, and operate machinery.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
