Grounds Technician - Seasonal

Overview

Join our team as a Grounds Technician and help keep our parks safe, clean, and beautiful! You'll perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and ensuring restrooms and park facilities are in top shape. • Operates weed eaters, rakes, blowers, push mowers and cleans in/around parks.
• Loads equipment, pole saw, weed eater, blower, hedger, chainsaw, generator, on truck and trailer for job to be completed, and may drive to locations.
• Prunes and removes dead or damaged trees and shrubs.
• Minor playground assembly and concrete work.
• Prepares for special events, Christmas, tournaments, Special Olympics, and July 4th etc.
• Performs preventative maintenance including checking and changing oil and minor repair of equipment including vehicle, pole saw, chain saw, blower, and weed-eater.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver’s license within 90 days).

Preferred:

• Previous lawn maintenance experience.

Ability to perform minor repairs, follow written and oral instructions and operate tools and machinery necessary for maintenance and repairs.

These may include services or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of your job. In the event of an evacuation, the incumbent in this position may be required to remain to perform needed services.

Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
