Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician performs mechanical maintenance, repair, and inspection work on plant equipment to support safe and reliable operations. This role includes preventive maintenance, pipe fitting, welding, and general mechanical work in a chemical plant environment while following all company safety procedures and HSE requirements.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections on plant equipment
  • Troubleshoot and complete mechanical repairs on plant systems
  • Perform pipe fitting and welding including SMAW and GTAW
  • Read and interpret blueprints and piping drawings
  • Take precision measurements using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers, etc...
  • Operate maintenance equipment including forklifts, man lifts, drill presses, threading machines, saws, hand tools, and cranes up to a 15-ton cherry picker
  • Perform rigging and lifting tasks safely and correctly
  • Assist with work permits, lockout/tagout, and safe job preparation
  • Write work orders and report equipment issues or near misses
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, and plant safety initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • TWIC card
  • 5+ years of pipe fitting and/or welding experience in a refinery or chemical plant environment
  • Proven tenure
  • Pipe fitting and welding experience including SMAW and GTAW
  • Blueprint reading and mechanical troubleshooting experience
  • Precision measurement experience using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
  • Experience operating forklifts, man lifts, and small cranes
  • Knowledge of proper rigging techniques
  • Basic computer skills including email and Microsoft applications
