Job Overview

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; the work area can be hot in summer and cold in winter. It is greasy, dirty and noisy. Tasks involve lifting, pulling, and/or pushing materials and products up to 50 pounds, standing and walking considerable distances. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hard hats.

Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

• A High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic English reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Manual dexterity for operating hand tools and handheld technical devices.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and yard instruments is a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible or rotating schedule, which may include overtime and weekends.

• Assist in the transfer and production operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
• Follow the forklift operator’s instructions during transfers and housekeeping operations.
• Verify all loading and unloading of material for quality assurance.
• Assist in inventory control for verification of counts and material.
• Assist with racking of material per instruction.
• Communicate to Yard Lead‑Man any problems with material, racks, or trucks.
• Ensure equipment operated is in good condition.
• Follow all PPE policies and safety rules.

• Report to Yard Lead‑Man for daily production tasks or to Yard Supervisor for special projects.
• Assist forklift operator with loading, unloading, and verification of material.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices and keep the work area free of debris.
• Perform five racks verification daily.
• Complete the PIT checklist on a daily basis.
• Operate powered industrial equipment (buggie) as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• This position has the authority to stop yard operation at any time deemed necessary for safety reasons.
