About the Role

The Warehouse Lead plays a critical role in overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely processing of inventory and shipments. This position is responsible for leading a team of warehouse associates, coordinating workflow, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The Warehouse Lead acts as a liaison between warehouse staff and management, facilitating communication and problem-solving to meet operational goals.

They are accountable for monitoring inventory levels, quality control, and compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Ultimately, the Warehouse Lead ensures that all warehouse activities support the broader supply chain objectives and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and safety regulations.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required by warehouse duties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment.
  • Demonstrated leadership training or certifications.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of warehouse staff to meet productivity and quality standards.
  • Manage inventory control processes including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse team members to promote professional development and performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and customer service teams to optimize warehouse operations and resolve issues promptly.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational workflows and reduce errors.
Skills

The Warehouse Lead utilizes strong organizational and leadership skills daily to manage team workflows and ensure operational efficiency. Effective communication skills are essential for coordinating between staff and other departments, resolving conflicts, and providing clear instructions. Analytical skills are applied to monitor inventory data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions. Proficiency with warehouse management software and technology supports accurate tracking and reporting of inventory and shipments.

Additionally, problem-solving abilities enable the Warehouse Lead to address challenges proactively and drive continuous improvement in warehouse processes.
