Overview

Director Nursing is responsible for the 24/7 management of assigned nursing units and departments. The position ensures high‑quality nursing care, strategic and operational planning, and compliance with regulations and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee staff activities, ensuring quality, productivity, and functional excellence.
  • Drive employee engagement, staffing, budgeting, and compliance with policy and regulatory standards.
  • Plan, organize, lead, and evaluate nursing services within the specialty area.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work environment.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to maintain regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Lead change initiatives and promote continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing;
    Master’s degree in Nursing preferred. If no current Master’s, must be obtained within two years.
  • Minimum three years in a clinical setting, with at least two years in people management.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by Texas; must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days of hire.
  • Magnet ANCC Recognized Leadership Certification required.

  • Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software.
