Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Associate Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex engineering projects, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams. With over $200 million in projects and more on the way, we are adding staff to our team of incredible and dedicated Engineering professionals.

Associate Project Manager I/II
  • Resolve project conflicts and prepare appropriate design specifications.
  • Prepare cost estimates, negotiate contracts and change orders.
  • Provide coordination between City, consultants and contractors.
  • Conduct quality assurance observations on projects.
  • Review construction documents to ensure compliance with City codes, regulations and ordinances.
  • Administer contracts and monitor project progress; review and recommend payment of contractor and consultant invoices.
  • Participate in A&E meetings, pre‑bids, bid openings and pre‑construction meetings; process RFI and cost proposal requests.
  • Coordinate and communicate with citizens, developers, consultants and other governmental agencies; participate in the planning and construction of public infrastructure and CIP development.
  • Coordinate with Project Utility Companies (Electrical, Gas, Fiber optic, Cable, etc.).
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Project Manager
  • Project Initiation: research and provide project documents during the planning phase; develop and create initial scope documents, undertakings with end users, and a rough order of magnitude budget and schedule.
  • Prepare RFQs, review design proposals and contracts, and plan/construction documents ensuring compliance with City codes, regulations and ordinances.
  • Project Planning: assure that project plans and specifications meet requirements; review and resolve project conflicts; prepare cost estimates; negotiate contracts and amendments; develop project schedule; provide coordination between City, consultants and contractors.
  • Project Execution: administer contracts and monitor progress, including corrections to maintain scope, schedule and budget; review and recommend payment of contractor and consultant invoices; participate in meetings and process RFIs and cost proposal requests.
  • Monitoring the Project: conduct quality assurance during design and construction; oversee contracts related to quality assurance such as professional services related to materials testing and equipment commissioning.
  • Stakeholder and Communications Management: coordinate and communicate with citizens, developers, consultants and other governmental agencies during design and construction; coordinate project plans and required utility relocations with private utility companies.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field— or an equivalent combination of education, experience, certification and/or licenses sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Valid State of Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver’s license within 90 days).
Additional Requirements
  • Associate Project Manager II
    • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.
    • Two or more years experience in professional‑level Civil Engineering design or project management related roles.
  • Project Manager
    • Three years experience in a professional level related role.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Preferred
  • Municipal engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • CADD and/or GIS experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Project and/or equivalent software programs.
  • Knowledge of transportation, utility and building facility construction.
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
