Marketplace Platform Lead
Location: Newark, NJ (Onsite - 3 Days/Week)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Marketplace Platform Lead to architect, design, and guide the implementation of a modern data and service marketplace platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform), distributed systems, Dev Ops, API integrations, and enterprise-scale architecture. This role requires both deep technical leadership and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering

• Lead stakeholder meetings to gather and validate business requirements.
• Align platform objectives with organizational goals and define user journeys and workflow expectations.

Architecture & Platform Design

• Define end-to-end Marketplace architecture, including domain models, integration patterns, platform components, and data flows.
• Build technical designs, architectural documentation, workflow diagrams, and extensibility frameworks.
• Design integration strategies using REST/Graph
  
  QL APIs, event-driven patterns, and synchronoasynchronous messaging.

Technology Evaluation & Governance

• Conduct platform and vendor assessments using scoring frameworks.
• Recommend the best-fit platforms, tools, and integration technologies based on business and technical needs.
• Lead architectural governance and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.

Engineering Leadership & Delivery

• Provide hands-on architectural guidance throughout development and delivery cycles.
• Partner with engineering teams to drive technical design decisions and ensure best practices.
• Oversee scalability, performance, observability, and security across Marketplace components.

Collaboration & Compliance

• Work closely with product, data, engineering, and security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise governance, data privacy, and reliability requirements.
• Drive cross-team alignment through technical reviews, design sessions, and architecture workshops.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

• Proven experience in software engineering, platform development, or technical architecture roles.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native solutions (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Expertise in designing REST/Graph
  
  QL APIs
  , event-driven architectures, and workflow engines.
• Proficiency with messaging systems
  , integration frameworks, and cross-domain interoperability.
• Solid experience with Dev Ops
  , CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, ARM), observability, and security best practices.

Marketplace & Data Platform Experience

• Experience building or leading a Data Marketplace platform

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration systems, rules engines, BPM platforms, and catalog management systems.
• Knowledge of enterprise identity systems (OAuth, SAML, SSO), access governance, and data privacy frameworks.

Leadership & Communication

• Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable engineering plans.
• Demonstrated leadership guiding engineering teams through architecture decisions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience evaluating and scoring platforms, tools, and vendor solutions.
• Background in enterprise data platforms, data governance, and data integration patterns.
• Prior experience acting as a platform architect in an enterprise environment.
