Job SummaryTo support the company’s repair activities across the business. This is a key mechanical role to the business repairing and overhauling aircraft wheels and brakes to be released into service all parts will be identified and controlled by querying the work orders and various computer systems at your disposal to determine work scope.
Level II – Specific Requirements- Individuals at this level are skilled workers who can perform a wide range of maintenance tasks independently and are able to troubleshoot common issues.
- Minimum 12 months in current role. (Unless exceptional circumstances)
- NVQ Level 2, Vocational Qualifications Level 2, GCSE A* - C, ESOL Skills for Life, Higher Diplomas, Functional Skills Level 2 English, Maths & ICT.
- Can perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on component parts and assemblies.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, quality and functionality related problems.
- Proficient with maintenance tools and equipment.
- Capable of reading and interpreting manuals and technical documents.
- Component at inspection and spares assessing.
- Able to process parts for rework and carry out basic repairs as required.
- Some leadership or mentoring ability for lower-level workers.
- Good metrology skills (proficient with fine limit measurement).
- Must be focused on the job at hand.
- Have a positive attitude.
- Achieve required levels of productivity.
- After two years of experience in the Brake Bay Department, demonstrating consistent progress and a positive attitude, individuals will be considered for advancement to Level III.
- This progression requires the ability to produce work of the highest quality, maintain consistency in performance, and demonstrate a minimum of two years’ experience in the Brake Bay assembly and inspection.
- Early promotion to Level III may be granted to those who exceed expectations.
- In-depth training in specific areas and maintenance, such as mechanical, electrical, or systems; certifications like NVQ or equivalent.
