Job Title: Substitute Nurse

Exemption Status/ Test: Non-exempt

Reports to: Principal

Department/ School: Assigned Campus(es)

Minimum Salary: $85/day (LVN); $95/day (RN)

Primary Purpose:

Perform the duties for substitute nursing as assigned by the principal

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Licensed LVN or RN

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to understand detailed written or oral instructions

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

Experience:

None

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform the duties of the job position

Notify the school office of any serious problems

Follow as closely as you can to the schedule of job

Complete taskes left for you by staff or professional in charge

Record information for the returning employee

Abide by substitute policies

Report on time, report for any assigned duty, and work through the end of the stated sub hours

Maintain emotional control under stress;
Ability to follow instructions

Tools/ Equipment Used:

Personal computer, copier, and printer. You may need to be able to use specialized equipment related to students with assistive technology

Posture:

Standing for long periods of time, frequent stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment. May require lifting up to 30 lbs.
