LOCATION:

Entity/Department: Tenaris Bay City, Inc.

Location: Bay City, TX

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitors the operation of reheating furnaces, including Rotary Hearth Furnace, Heat Treatment Furnaces, and Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer, to ensure processes are running according to specifications.
  • Monitors furnace emissions and adjusts process parameters as needed.
  • Monitors and troubleshoots furnaces’ alarms and adjust process parameters as needed.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on furnace instrumentation (e.g., pressure transmitters, flow transmitters, servomotor motors, shut off valves, thermocouples, RTDs, etc).
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) analyzers and ammonia injection system.
  • Performs safety interlock checks and report results/findings in SAP PM.
  • Performs quality assurance plans on instrumentation and report in SAP PM.
  • Maintenance plans work orders execution and reporting in SAP PM.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on different type of burners.
  • Performs complex failure analysis, determining root causes, utilizing critical analytical thinking and taking actions to avoid recurrence of the combustion control systems.
  • Reviews, participates, and technically assists in emergency repairs and failure analysis.
  • Analyzes and proposes machine and equipment upgrades or replacements.
  • Develops and implements work procedures and risk assessments.
  • Covers shifts or work holidays as needed.
  • Stays on call for emergency assistance as needed.
  • Works as part of the maintenance team following supervisor indications.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electric Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or closely related field.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a related occupation in the steel manufacturing industry performing each of the following: reheating combustion furnaces and burners process control monitoring and control and instrumentation maintenance; operating and maintaining thermocouples, RTDs, flow, pressure transmitters, flame detector, digital and analog control valves, limit switches, pneumatic and electric actuator valves, Hart communication emissions analyzers, and safety interlock checks;

    monitoring and adjusting Piping and Instrumentation (PID) control loops; failure analysis development and follow up; supervising refractory insulation installation; utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and instrumentation electrical diagrams; measuring and calibrating instrument usage; preventative maintenance activities, planning, and reporting; utilizing SAP PM module performing inspections of industrial services equipment; and creating notifications, work orders, and requesting materials.
Alternate Requirements
  • Five (5) years’ experience in a related occupation in the steel manufacturing industry performing each of the following: reheating combustion furnaces and burners process control monitoring and Sensitivity:
    Confidential control and instrumentation maintenance; operating and maintaining thermocouples, RTDs, flow, pressure transmitters, flame detector, digital and analog control valves, limit switches, pneumatic and electric actuator valves, Hart communication emissions analyzers, and safety interlock checks; monitoring and adjusting Piping and Instrumentation (PID) control loops; failure analysis development and follow up; supervising refractory insulation installation; utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and instrumentation electrical diagrams;

    measuring and calibrating instrument usage; preventative maintenance activities, planning, and reporting; utilizing SAP PM module performing inspections of industrial services equipment; and creating notifications, work orders, and requesting materials.
