Job Details:

• Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement patient care plans aimed at returning patients to optimal health

• Provide direct bedside nursing care and execute medical orders

• Delegate tasks to and oversee Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, OB Care Associates, Surgical Service Assistants, Nursing Clerks, and Psychiatric Technicians

• Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make necessary adjustments

• Assume leadership responsibilities including integrating evidence-based knowledge into practice

• Coordinate and delegate nursing care tasks and assignments

• Participate in patient conferences and discharge/transfer planning

• Identify and address patients' ongoing and discharge teaching needs

• Must be comfortable floating to Emergency Department and Step-down units

• Work every third weekend

• No on-call requirements

• 2+ years of ICU experience required

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

• Preferred certifications: TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, SCRN

• Michigan nursing license required

• Travel experience preferred

• Neurosurgical and open heart experience preferred

• Precept and mentor new employees and students

• Function as team leader ensuring proper patient placement and assignment delegation
