The position of Maintenance Technician includes multiple tasks that ultimately provide good manufacturing practices and on‑time delivery to the customer. The individual must be able to support all manufacturing maintenance activities in the facility and is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety standards in addition to helping in the manufacturing area when needed.

- Comply with all safety requirements and training to support a Goal Zero culture, including safety talks, observations, audits, etc.
- Calibration of instrumentation as needed.
- Perform preventive/corrective maintenance and maintain accurate records, including dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, assemble and lubricate equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
- Operate with a flexible work schedule, including off shifts and on‑call situations.
- Maintain accurate critical spares and parts inventory system.
- Analyze operating processes to maximize efficiency and maintain efficient machine operations.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues within the process or facility.
- Read blueprints, including electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Inspect, install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
- Determine the best way to make repairs to minimize production interruption.
- Determine when equipment must be shut down to prevent further damage.
- Operate mill, lathe, band saw, welder, multimeter, cutting torches, power hand tools, bench grinder, etc.
- Inspect and diagnose motors, switches, receptacles, circuit breakers, and electronic devices.
- Perform PLC programming on various devices and machines located within the facility.
- Familiar with HVAC, refrigeration compressors and condensation units, gas‑fired boiler operations and related processes.
- Complete work orders or follow oral instructions to assist the manufacturing group in daily operations.
- Assist the manufacturing group as needed in a wide range of duties.
- Operate forklift, perform general housekeeping duties, maintain a clean work environment, and operate production machinery.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar capacity at a manufacturing or production facility.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with PLC, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, etc.
- Knowledge of controls and 480‑volt electrical circuits.
- Proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
- Ability to work overtime or weekends on short notice.
- Basic mathematics skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive teamwork and support of other personnel and departments.
- Strong multitasking and time‑management skills.
- Good attendance record.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
- Mechanical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to stand for 8–12 hours.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more safely.
- Work with fiberglass and other potentially hazardous materials.
- Compliance with respiratory fit testing.
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
