OverviewDescription:
The level 2 operators at SC Johnson Bay City may be trained on multiple tasks throughout the site that require lifting, bending, and working in a production environment. Below is an overview of different jobs/tasks a level 2 operator may be asked to do on a daily basis.
TasksTray packing is the process of removing sealed dispensers from the conveyor line and placing them into a preformed tray. These trays are stacked onto a pallet and then stretch wrapped for shipment by a SCJ Technician. A Hand Truck is used to remove the pallet from the production area to the warehouse. A Tray Packing Standard Work Document has been created to explain each task required in this role.
Perform the trays. Refer to 1180 building for specified tray pack run. Remove sealed dispensers from conveyor and place into performed tray, per product specification. Place the completed tray onto a pallet and stack per stacking specification. Stretch wrap the completed pallet. SC Johnson personnel must be called to remove the pallet. Housekeeping and general clean up are required during periods of downtime.
Bulk pull crew will be required to do housekeeping and general cleanup during periods of line downtime. The crew leader monitors the crew regarding PPE, GMP, proper packaging, and documentation.

This process involves removing finished cases from a conveyor and placing them on a pallet. Case stacking pattern is communicated via pallet stacking pattern from packaging specifications. Using proper lifting techniques, stack cases on the pallet per pallet stacking specification. Housekeeping and general clean up are required during periods of downtime.

Pre-break shipping cases from one pallet by ensuring that they open. Then close them again and restack on another pallet. Inform SCJ technician of any defects found, such as glue, wrinkles, bad prints, misshaped cases, etc.

Tucking bags in full dispensers as they come down the line before the closer. Set by the conveyor before the closer and tuck in bags if needed to ensure that the dispenser closes properly without damaging the finished product. Rework bags if needed.

Inspect damaged or critical defect bags and replace them with quality bags to pack into tote/dispenser/cases. Place clean bags in reclaim table and used cardboard to be recycled.

Remove cases from the exit and rotate them 180 degrees to accommodate the coder printing.

Fill all magazines with identified dispensers and shipping cases. Support housekeeping initiatives. Perform minor quality inspections and inform SCJ Operator of all quality issues found. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Assist with building rework and clean up.
