Bay Area Women's Center seeks a Residential Program Manager to join our team.
This full-time position is a mid-level managerial role responsible for overseeing daily shelter operations. This role combines direct client service responsibilities with supervisory duties, focusing on mentoring residential case managers and crisis support staff while actively contributing to program development to achieve positive outcomes.

Bay Area Women's Center stands as a beacon of hope and support for individuals facing domestic violence and sexual assault. The center offers a range of vital services, from emergency shelter to counseling, ensuring that every person in need receives the care and assistance necessary to rebuild and empower their lives. The Residential Program Manager is a crucial managerial support position, overseeing daily shelter operations, managing crisis situations, and providing immediate assistance to residents, ensuring compliance with safety and agency protocols.
This position involves supervising and training staff, coordinating emergency services, providing support and advocacy for survivors, and developing individualized service plans addressing housing, safety, mental health, and substance abuse needs.
The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in social work or a related field, possesses strong leadership, crisis response, and case management skills, has a nonjudgmental disposition, and has the ability to remain calm under pressure. Consideration may be given to those with a bachelor’s degree who have a minimum of three years’ experience in a related human services field or shelter management.
Knowledge and experience in issues surrounding domestic violence is highly valuable but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.

Specific Duties- Oversee day-to-day shelter operations, ensuring compliance with agency policies and safety protocols
- Manage crisis situations promptly and professionally to minimize risk and liability
- Coordinate emergency shelter services, including transportation and on-call coverage
- Supervise, train, and evaluate residential and crisis staff
- Assign residential clients to caseworkers and monitor client progress
- Provide crisis intervention, individual/group services, education, advocacy, information and referrals, and all other residential client services.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans to assist clients in recognizing and overcoming their individual challenges and barriers in areas such as housing, safety, mental health, and substance abuse needs
- Participate in case management meetings and contribute to program development
- Attend training to continually strengthen knowledge and skills.
