Senior Project Manager — Michigan Region
Environmental Consulting & Technology (ECT) is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead Natural Resources staff and support Natural Resource projects within the Michigan Region. This role combines project leadership, team management, business development, and technical mentorship to drive profitable regional growth and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a Team Leader for Natural Resources staff in the Michigan Region, supporting staff development, training, and performance management.
- Facilitate clear, effective communication between the Region Director and staff.
- Collaborate with client directors to identify and pursue regional and national growth opportunities.
- Represent ECT at conferences and industry events; deliver presentations and publish technical papers in areas of expertise.
- Lead and contribute to major proposal efforts, including scope development, cost estimating, and presentation.
- Manage and oversee projects as Project Manager or in senior technical roles, including remote management of projects across the Midwest (MI, IN, WI, IL, OH).
- Oversee project staffing, budgets, schedules, client communications, and QA/QC of deliverables.
- Support business development within existing accounts and pursue new client opportunities.
- Assist operations and project managers with resource planning, staff management, and project execution.
- Participate in recruitment of on-site professionals as needed.
- Provide market intelligence on regulatory drivers and sector opportunities; identify profitable and sustainable service and diversification opportunities.
- Offer strategic and technical leadership, mentorship, and direction to strengthen ECT’s service offerings.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with subconsultants, subcontractors, and other collaborators.
- Travel to client sites and projects as required (up to 40% of time; typically 25–30%, variable with workload).
- Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline (science or engineering); advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., MBA) preferred.
- Minimum five years of project management experience in the environmental industry.
- Functional familiarity with ECT services and offerings.
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring interdisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and diplomatic communication skills.
- Proven ability to present to audiences of varying sizes and seniority levels.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to develop creative business solutions.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
