Join Our Team as a Locum Physician - Gastroenterology in Bay City, MI Are you an experienced gastroenterologist looking to make a meaningful impact while gaining flexible, rewarding work experience? We are seeking dedicated Locum Physicians to provide exceptional gastroenterology services in Bay City, Michigan. This opportunity offers ongoing, consistent coverage through 2026, allowing you to support a vibrant community while enjoying competitive compensation and a supportive professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 24-hour call coverage, with scheduled shifts from Monday 7 a.m. to Friday 7 p.m. Perform endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, with expertise and precision Collaborate with hospitalist support and community colorectal surgeons Participate in outpatient clinics at a location less than half a mile from the hospital Ensure patient care quality and adherence to hospital protocols during assigned shifts
Required Skills:
Medical degree from an accredited institution Valid state Medical License and Board Certification in Gastroenterology Proven experience in performing ERCP procedures Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Nice to Have
Skills:
Previous locum or temporary position experience Familiarity with hospital electronic medical records systems Bilingual abilities or multilingual skills Preferred
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in gastroenterology Prior experience working in hospital-based settings Active Michigan medical license or eligibility for licensure Other Requirements:
On-call coverage from Monday 7 a.m. to Friday 7 p.m., with no weekend call obligations Ability to travel to and from the healthcare facility as scheduled Coverage of malpractice insurance, orientation, and daily shifts; rates including malpractice to be submitted Must comply with travel and expense reimbursement policies; lodging must be booked directly, avoiding third-party booking sites Participation in orientation and training sessions as required This is an outstanding opportunity to deliver high-quality care in a welcoming community setting while enjoying the benefits of flexible scheduling and competitive pay.
