We are seeking a highly skilled Gastroenterologist with strong clinical capabilities and the ability to adapt seamlessly to a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for providing 24-hour call coverage on a weekly basis, including performing ERCP procedures, supporting hospitalist teams, and managing outpatient care at a nearby GI clinic. The schedule is structured with weekdays (Monday-Thursday) from 7 am to 7 am, and Fridays from 7 am to 7 pm, with no weekend call requirements.
Ongoing coverage is needed through the end of 2026.
Required Skills:
- Board-certified or eligible in Gastroenterology
- Proven experience in endoscopic procedures, specifically ERCP
- Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Skills:
- Experience practicing in a hospital setting
- Familiarity with practice management systems
- Additional procedural expertise beyond ERCP
Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Current Michigan medical license or eligibility
- At least 2 years of post-training clinical experience in gastroenterology
- Prior locum or temporary coverage experience is advantageous
- Must be able to perform ERCP procedures
- Ability to obtain or hold active medical licensure in Michigan
- Flexibility to adapt to schedule shifts and potential call-back situations
- Must comply with all hospital and healthcare regulations and policies
