Job Description

JRT is seeking a highly motivated, production‑oriented individual to join our fabrication team. As a Welding Fabrication Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring projects are completed accurately and on schedule. This position is ideal for someone with basic welding knowledge who is eager to learn advanced skills, including CNC operation, in JRT's Fabrication Shop in Battle Ground, Washington.

Duties
  • Use grinders, bandsaws, and chop saws to prep material for welding
  • Read and follow ISO drawings to assist with part assembly
  • Perform basic welding tasks and use oxy‑acetylene torches for cutting
  • Safely move and secure heavy materials using shop rigging equipment
Qualifications
  • Must be able to work 40+ hours per week; overtime may be required
  • Good communication and teamwork skills (not afraid to ask questions)
  • Capable of independent problem‑solving and troubleshooting issues
  • Experience using hand and power tools (grinders, bandsaw, chop saw)
  • Strong understanding of basic geometry and the ability to accurately convert fractions to decimals
  • Some prior welding experience (MIG/Stick/TIG) and experience with oxy‑acetylene torches and rigging
  • Convert fractions to decimals (down to 1/16”) and use basic geometry for layouts
