Job Summary:

Prairie Farms Dairy, Battle Creek operates as a dairy manufacturing plant and distribution center that covers the whole state of MI and some of the surrounding states. We make dairy products that are then distributed to retail outlets, warehouses, hospitals, correctional facilities, retirement homes, food service warehouses, schools and colleges throughout Michigan.

We are looking for an experienced Fleet Mechanic 2nd shift (2:00p - 12:00a) Must have Diesel Mechanic experience. This is a great team to work with!

Must have Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications - pay is based on number of certifications:

Brakes & PMs: $32.00/hour
Brakes, PMs & Suspension: $37.00/hour
Master Certified: $44.00/hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining refrigerated storage trailers and transports
  • Must have knowledge of diesel engine repair and diagnostics
  • Must check oil, coolant levels and belts on refrigerated trailers
  • Performs preventative maintenance on trailers
  • Minor repairs as needed
  • Follows all company policies and procedures regarding GMPs, SOPs and Quality standards
  • Effectively utilize time available to achieve results through prioritizing demands
  • Maintains an air of professionalism and communicates effectively
  • Demonstrates problem solving and decision making ability, as needed
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks of the job and a willingness to learn
  • Other duties as assigned or required
